Who Your Internet Site Links To Makes A Difference

| Posted in List Building

If you wish to get top website positioning your website will be evaluated on many different aspects. One thing that most individuals already know is that they have to have their site keyword optimized.

Another thing most of you are mindful of is that you have to have lots of links pointing back to your site from other sites. Not surprisingly there are some other things that individuals need to know about their search engine ranking.

There are many different factors employed by Google to figure out a web pages position and while some are widely known many of them are not. And one of these items that individuals know is that who you link to can either help or hurt your pagerank with Google in addition to your rankings in the search engines. One thing you should realize is that if you have a link to a site that Google has banned you will recognize that this is a bad thing. When Google spiders your site and follows the link you have directed to the other site, Google will think that you are in bed with the other site which they already banned. At this point Google may ban your website just for linking to that website, or at a minimum they will move your page in their search engine results so no one is ever going to find it.

But this also functions the other way around. While this is pretty much common knowledge, I actually went out and put this to the test. The result for every website I tried this on ended in better rankings every time for each website I did this with. There was no set increase, as a few sites would move only a few placements while other web pages would jump pages at one time.

This can be done by going to You Tube and adding a video to your website that pertains to the subject matter of your website. Using this method not only are you generating a link to You Tube a website that Google owns, but you are also adding video to your content which Google also loves. Another thing you might do is to simply add a direct link right back to Google’s website. Using these little tricks you may find that your search engine positioning will rise in about a week or so.

Once again, you will have to be careful who you link to. When anybody ever wants to swap links with you, the very first thing you will want to do is to see if that website is indexed in Google. If Google does not have them indexed it could be for the reason that they have banned that website. This may on the other hand not be the reason why, because if this site is a new site it is possible that Google just hasn’t discovered the website yet. In any event the link will not be doing you any good so don’t swap links with websites that are not indexed in Google.
