Top Tips on Using PLR Articles

| Posted in Article Marketing

Why should you use PLR? Well, it cuts down the time it takes you to produce an article. This can lead to you adding more content to your site more often, which can mean higher search engine placement (since the search engines like continuous fresh content). When you produce more content, people start noticing and you and your site can be seen as experts in your field. All of this can ultimately lead to more sales.

Here are my top tips on using PLR articles:

1. You don’t have to rewrite PLR, but you should to make it more original and to add your keywords. You’ll also want to add any affiliate product links so you can make some money from your articles/blog posts.

2. Before you buy PLR, know what you want to do with it. You don’t want to buy it and store it for a rainy day because you’re going to forget it’s there or feel nagged that you haven’t used it yet. Go looking for PLR with its purpose already in mind. Have a list of your favorite PLR writers so you can check in with them, or better yet, get on their lists as they will automatically inform you of any new PLR they’ve written.

3. Keep in mind you can make your PLR go a long way. A 500-650 word article can be broken up into 2 or 3 smaller articles for your blog or emails.

4. Think about adding to the article. For example, this article you’re reading right now… you can expand on all the numbered points by giving further explanations and/or examples. If you do this, you could end up with a short report, or an article that could be cut into 3 articles.

5. Put lots of white space in your article. Your English teacher might not agree, but shorter paragraphs are king with online marketing. You don’t necessarily have the reader’s attention for very long, so make it easy on their eyes. People want to be informed or entertained in smaller doses, not feel like they’re back in school reading a textbook.

6. Always throw out the original title because other people have the same PLR and won’t bother to change the title. You want to be original. Besides, you need to put your keywords in the title to bring in the traffic.

7. Don’t spend a lot of your time rewriting. If you start with quality PLR, it shouldn’t be a time-sink to rewrite it. The whole reason you’re using PLR is because the research has already been done for you and it’s quicker than writing an article from scratch.

Using PLR can give you an advantage – less work and time involved than writing your own article. It’s also a lot cheaper than hiring a ghostwriter to write your articles or blog posts. The more PLR articles you put to good use, the faster you can grow your Internet business.

Your blog looks GREAT! I’m going to need to spend some time here. You have some great content that I need to read. Should be very helpful to me.

One question, did you use Aweber to do your Optin form for Alex’s Listbuilding book? If so, how did you get the multicolor lettering and the red arrows? If not Aweber, then what did you use? Mind giving me a clue?

Thanks for any help.
Dawn

Hi Dawn,

Thanks for commenting and complimenting I do hope I am proving useful content.

In answer to your question; Actually I did not use Aweber for this ad because I just linked it to my Alex Jeffreys Squeeze page so that they can opt in there.

Now with that being said, I took a look at your html code on your page and it would not be hard to add
color to your Aweber optin form. I can’t take credit for the red arrows because I “borrowed” that graphic from another blog and it already had the arrows on it, but I can help you add color to your text.

Can you confirm whether your form is in a text widget, which is what it looks like to me, or just inserted into your navigation bar script?
Second, how comfortable are you with a little html code changing?
Third what program do you use to work on your web pages? Do you have Kompozer or dreamweaver or some other editor where you can edit html code?

I’m just trying to establish your level of knowledge in these areas.

Please feel free to email me if you want. It might be easier that way.

Best Regards,
Byron

Hi Peter,

I have found PLR to be very useful, but I am choosy about what I use and I always read and re-write every piece I use.

I have also found that if you send it out to enough places you do get traffic from it.

Hey Byron,

Just curious what’s the email address to your gravatar. I’d like to update you on my blog.

Cheers,

Rob

Hi Byron

I’ve often wondered what the true value is in PLR given its mass distribution – distribute something in mass and its value is going to be limited.

I guess if you can be choosy about what you distibute and always change titles then they can be a useful recourse

Byron,

Great article on plr. I especially love point five because it also lends itself very well to blog post writing.

white space, readers have little attention, and they want to be quickly informed or entertained.

Can’t wait for your next top 10 list.

Cheers,

Rob

Hey Byron,
I hate to ask stupid questions here, but, what is PLR?!?!?!?! Is it ‘out of the box’ ready to promote product similar to the profit pulling platform that Alex provides in his 2.0 course?
Thanks
Lee

Hi Lee,
No such thing as stupid questions…just stupid mistakes.

PLR stands for Private Label Rights products. It can be almost anything from individual articles to small reports, to full size eBooks, to videos. I think you get the idea.
There are many sites that offer PLR products..some for free and some for a small cost. The thing with PLR is that you have to be willing to re-write it at least 50%-75% before you publish it as your own (at least in the case of articles).
Many of the other products come with “MRR” -Master Resale Rights, Private label rights, give away rights and many combinations of these rights.

A couple of sites you could check out are:

Hi Byron
Just a question about the offer from Shawn Casey.
“Shawn Casey will give you his Internet Business In A Box that retails for $497 for FREE!?”
Have you taken him up on his and is there a catch like its free but you have to sign up for a free trial membership?

Hi David

In answer to your question, yes I have taken Shawn up on his offer. There is no monthly fee associated directly with the business in a box. He does however, give you 30 days free access to his Easy Profits Strategies Club and if you decide to stay, and I did, he charges you $39/month. I think he provides more value than what you could normally get for $39 each month. As with most online marketers, he will make good use of having you on his list, but you don’t have to buy from him unless you like what he has.
Best advice is check it out when you have time and judge for yourself. If you don’t like it, just cancel. He makes it easy.
Hope that helps,
Byron

Hi Byron,

great tips on using PLR articles, I have never used them myself but I can see the advantage, especially as an Alex Jeffrey’s student. Thanks for the tips,

Regards
Michael.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the comments. I am making good use of PLR materials since my creative writing skills died at birth.

Byron

Hey,Byron,
I was subscribed to one Resell Rights Membership and cancelled this subscription because had no ide how to use these PLR products and actually, didn’t see it like the way to make money.
Some people say it is great way to make money.I guess here should be some certain way of selling these products in big numbers.I have no idea how to do this and will appreciated for every good advice about this.

Hey Anatoly,
I take the free memberships at several PLR sites and have found all the PLR I have needed. Take a look at Brad’s comments here on this blog. He is doing basically the same thing that I am with these PLR products.

Best Regards,
Byron

Great Tips Byron!

This is how I use PLR packs.
I create blog/websites with the content from the themed plr pack. Just to start off the ground running then add my own content down the road. The purpose is to inform and entertain my audience then promote related affiliate offers from clickbank.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the comments. As I told Anatoly in my reply to him, you are doing basically the same thing I am with these products. Here’s wishing all of us much success.

Byron

Hey Byron: cool tips in this article (blog post). I’ll bookmark it with onlywire!

Hi Byron,

PLR is definitely a god send for those of us missing the creative gene and the points about the white space are spot on. I do like the shorter paragaphs.

Hey Andy,

You got trapped in my spam filter for some reason and I just noticed it. Your comments are spot on as you say, I am also missing the creative gene.
Hope all is going well for you.

Byron

Hey Byron
You seem to know a lot about PLR and article writing.
Your blog is very busy with ads. Good job.

I will have to put some of your PLR tips to use. I have program where I can download up to 90 products per month most have Private Label Rights, Master Resell Rights and Giveaway Rights.
http://ResellRightsFortune.com/goto/main/mal91

Anyway I have access to a lot of ebooks and ereports and esoftware that I can re-brand, modify and use to promote things.

Hey Norm,

I know, doesn’t Socrates run a great site? I am only a free member at this time, but I can definitely see the value he offers.

Byron
